As a San Francisco native, I have such an appreciation for old school San Francisco, or the magical traditions that survived the test of time. For me, the list of traditional culinary experiences to fully understand this city includes: eating pizza at Pascuale’s, grabbing an ice cream at Swensens, an Irish coffee from Buena Vista Cafe, a fresh popover with strawberry cream cheese under the dome at the Rotunda Cafe in Neiman Marcus, and…having tea in the lifesize Gingerbread House at the Fairmont Hotel.

If you are not into high tea, simply walking through this gigantic edible house adorned with thousands of gingerbread bricks bound with royal icing and dripping in Sees candy is a worthwhile experience! I got the chance to do just that for NBC recently, and in the video below, you can see all of the intricate details of this awe inspiring project, which literally begins as early as July!
Hope this video lifts your mood and gets your in the holiday spirit, yes I was a little mischievous, but it was all tongue in cheek 😛
Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating, and thank you for joining me on this journey!
