Creepy Carcuterie Board
A charcuterie board is a versatile choice for any gathering. For Halloween, consider using dark-themed ingredients.
- Cheeses: Include a mix of sharp cheddar, brie, and black garlic cheese.
- Meats: Add prosciutto and salami, perhaps arranged to resemble spider webs.
- Fruits: Use blackberries, figs, and dark grapes for a spooky touch.
- Accents: Incorporate black olives as “eyeballs” (add a slice of mozzarella with a peppercorn for the pupil) and use Halloween-themed crackers.
Witch’s Brew Soup
I love Lindsay’s idea of a batilicious pumpkin soup garnished with crispy tortilla bats!
- Recipe: For an excellent pumpkin soup recipe, check out a blog I did last year, when Chef Gus from the Sand Hotel in Santa Cruz taught me his soup secrets: https://feastinthemiddleeast.com/tag/pumpkin-soup/
- Presentation: Lindsay used a stencil to cut bat shapes out of blue corn tortillas, then pan fried them before adding to the soup
Lychee Eyeball and Spooky Ice Sangria
- Ingredients:Use canned lychee and some blueberries for the eyeballs, and pop them in a sangria cocktail. Fill latex gloves with water and put in the freezer, then remove before adding to your sangria or punch bowl.
Witchy Pasta with Mozzarella Skulls
Boil up some squid ink pasta and add some parmesan cheese, a little sauteed garlic, and some chile flakes. Using a skull stencil, press mozzarella cheese in each one, then
Final Touches
Presentation is key for a Halloween party. Use themed tableware, such as skull-shaped plates and pumpkin napkins, and dim the lights to create an eerie atmosphere. You can also incorporate fun labels for your food and drinks, adding to the spooky theme.
With these tasty and creepy ideas, your adult Halloween party is sure to be a haunting success. Enjoy the festivities, and remember: the more creative, the better!
