Hope you are all enjoying a fresh start this new year! I always love the idea of starting fresh, of burying any insecurities, negativity or setbacks and starting something new, exciting, and even a little scary. Because overcoming the fear of something new is how you grow. There have been lots of scary decisions I have made throughout my life, from deciding to teach fitness classes for the first time (the thought of filling a whole hour with compelling exercises for people seemed daunting) starting a cooking show without a large television studio or production team, teaching cooking classes, and now…writing a cookbook. I ain’t gonna lie, these things have literally scared the crap out of me. However I would rather experience failure than regret.
My Feast in the Middle East cookbook as been in the making now for almost 10 years, and I am finally ready to get it published! This cookbook will have all the specific instructions you need to be successful making your own Middle Eastern feast. The main focus is classical dishes, but there will be some east west fusion, vegan, and gluten free options as well. I am financing the whole thing myself, so yes this is a very scary time in my life. I have no idea if I will even break even, but one thing I do realize is this: in order for these recipes and traditions to live on, I have to document and share them with those that appreciate this kind food and culture. I have been fortunate enough to grow up with these hundreds (and in some cases thousands) of year old recipes. Now it’s time to pass the torch to all of you to keep it alive, and create your own special memories with your loved ones.
