Hello Dear Friends,
It’s been a hot minute since I got to hang out with my friend Lindsay of FOOD LALA–and her creative ideas never disappoint! Many of us usually feel a bit fluffy in January after one too many indulgences (cookes and pies and cakes oh my!). So I thought it would be a great idea to do a segment for NBC’s California Live on how to prioritize protein in out diets.
Why is a protein forward diet so magical? The more protein you eat, the more satiated you will feel, and the easier it will be to recomp your body so you lose fat rather than muscle. This will prevent your metabolism from tanking.
Enter the bone broth latte — a warm, savory, dairy-free drink that delivers protein and anti-inflammatory power in one comforting mug. It sounds unusual at first, but this blend of bone broth, spices, and aromatics like ginger is quickly becoming a favorite among wellness-focused drinkers looking for real energy and sustained fullness.

If coffee leaves you jittery, hungry, or crashing by mid-morning, it might be time to rethink your latte. Traditional lattes rely on milk and sugar for creaminess, which can spike blood sugar and leave you hungry soon after. A bone broth latte flips the script.
Key Benefits:
- High protein → helps keep you full longer
- Caffeine without the crash → steadier energy
- Dairy-free → easier on digestion
- Anti-inflammatory ingredients → supports gut & joint health
Bone broth is rich in amino acids like glycine and proline, which support muscle repair, gut health, and satiety — making it an ideal base for a functional morning drink. The ginger supports digestion, adds warmth and balance, and functions as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. The turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that can support joint and immune health. Black pepper primes the turmeric for absorption. The miso adds umami depth and creaminess, and has fermented compounds that support gut health. Miso also enhances flavor without dairy.
Together, these ingredients create am elixer that’s savory, satisfying, and deeply nourishing. To see how easy it is to make this drink, and to get more tips on how to incorporate protein into your diet, click on my new video below:
