I thought I would mix things up a bit to do a reaction video to a popular YouTuber named Beatrice Caruso, a lovely young woman who has documented her weight loss journey from week to week on video. I never heard of her before, until she decided to test out the Mediterranean diet for 2 weeks. What I saw in her vlog inspired me so much I had to share my impressions with you all.
Upon watching her video, I realized there are a lot of knowledge gaps to be filled among the general population on what the Mediterranean diet it all about. So I decided to fill those gaps with my knowledge from not only teaching how to cook Mediterranean food, but living this lifestyle my entire life.
What I love about this lifestyle is that there are no hard and set rules. People in the coastal Middle East will eat differently than a person from Spain, or Greece, or Cyprus. However, there is a common thread of no processed foods and light dairy with little red meat and sweets, and plenty of whole grains, fruits, veggies, legumes, and healthy fats from olive oil, nuts, and seeds.
I credit this diet to keeping me about the same weight my entire life- (give or take 5 pounds and of course, pregnancy pounds). The changes that Beatrice witnessed is absolutely remarkable on many health fronts, which is why I wanted to share this video with you. This video is a testament to what only 2 weeks this diet can do. Imagine what can happen in a lifetime!
